Class Info

Class #1 - "The Original" - This class will consist of discussing the science and history behind sourdough along with a thorough demonstration of each step of the bread making process. You will learn the master recipe I use, plus lots of tips and tricks, to make a delicious loaf of sourdough. I will have the dough ready at each step of the process so you can see exactly what needs to be done as well as what the dough should look like at each step. I will stop throughout the demonstration to answer any questions. I will also have bread for you to sample during the class. At the end of the class each person will be given their own Weck jar with the option of taking home some of my free starter. All flours used are certified organic.
Class #2 - "The Original + take home a loaf" - This class will be completely the same as the first option with the addition of each person getting a fresh baked loaf of bread to take home. Or I can bring the loaf as dough and each person can learn how to shape it in class. In addition to the jar of starter the person will also get a banneton basket to use when they make their own dough.
Bonus: there is a private Facebook group that you can join after the class where I will personally help you troubleshoot and answer questions as you embark on your bread making journey.
Most classes are hosted in people's homes that are invite only. Occasionally I will have one at a public venue. Want to host a class? You'll receive a special gift! Email sourdoughwithessie@gmail.com
Location
I will travel to the location of your choosing. Your house? Your church? A local venue? Yes! There just needs to be enough space for your group size. A working oven and fridge is helpful but not a necessity. I'm more than happy to travel up to 1 hour included as long as there is atleast 10 participants. For locations further than 1 hour or for less people there may be an additional, small travel fee and/or a higher number of participants needed. I am based out of the North East part of Maryland.
